The national award is based on the depth and breadth of
Green River College’s
student activities in areas such as physics research, public
science outreach, and physics tutoring programs. Green River’s
chapter is advised by Dr. Ajay Narayanan.
Less than ten percent of the SPS chapters nationwide are
honored with the Outstanding Chapter award, according to Gary
White, SPS Director. The Society of Physics Students is a
professional association that exists to help students
transform into contributing members of the physics
professional community. |
The much-honored Green River College Physics Department was also recently
named as one of ten exemplary two-year college physics
programs in the country by the American Association of Physics
Teachers.
